Nothing prevents us from generalizing about the picture that is presented by *all* the data we do have, which according to *all* honest and competent analysts of the data, leads to the same conclusion.

Publicola is correct and guinganbresil is straining to misstate the point, which is that waiting for omniscience or proof positive is as stupid in this context as it would be to wait for Al Qaida to attack us again to "prove" that it intends to. Rational, informed people do not dispute either point nor advocate any sort of "wait and see" approach.
