If averaging bothers you so much, you probably shouldn't use the concept of "temperature" at all, since it's "just" the average per-particle kinetic energy of any collection of a large number of particles.
You have by no means shown that the entire climate is nothing but chaos. We have all agreed, at different times and to varying degrees, to consider whether within the climate, some phenomena exhibit behavior that satisfies the formal, mathematical definition of "chaos theory." Both you and fabco have failed to provide conclusive proof of any. The mid-Pleistocene transition discussed by Rial was the best candidate, and even that so far lacks any demonstrated "self-similarity" that you both insist is required at all scales in all "chaotic" systems.
You're free to choose to emphasize the dramatic side effects of increasing thermal energy in the climate system, but you are not free to deny the fact that the primary effect of CO₂ is warming while also claiming not to be a climate science deniar. All the legitimate climate science does say warming. Fact. You may accept that fact of climate science, deny climate science, or just shut up about it. You many not continue to deny climate science but also be respected as though that is not what you are doing.
