If my name is on the watch list, I do not want to be able to buy a gun before I have worked with the FBI so that they stop wasting their time tapping my phone for information that, frankly, is not, never has been, and never will be on my phone lines. This is not any abridgement of my right to bear arms. It is postponement of my *acquisition* of arms, which I have every reason to believe federal law enforcement is eager to facilitate.
They don't enjoy following false leads, although it is unavoidable that on occasion they GET false leads. The purpose of the right to bear arms is national defense and that is best served by a well-regulated militia, and that includes well-regulated firearms commerce.
