Louisiana Oil Spill 2010 PHOTOS: Gulf Of Mexico Leak Reaches Land

No, and I'm not looking for outside verification because all the reporting I have read and viewed (Rachel Maddow in particular) makes very clear that there are no "experts" outside of the petroleum industry's control. The leader of the Coast Guard effort, bless his heart, *defers* to the opinions of BP on all efforts to stop the flow of oil. He's clearly just there to offer "muscle" to deal with the sludge that's already escaped from the well, and only to do that within the parameters that BP sets, and that's wrong.

If the People were in charge and preserving the environment was even a real consideration, forget about priority, we should have heard serious questions from the corporate media to BP about using explosives to shut the hole, and we would have heard the opinions of academic geologists, materials scientists and explosives experts. We should have heard from the foremost experts on the use of dynamite for mining, working with the foremost experts on undersea geology, none of whom should have any connection with petroleum money in any way.

If the "press" was attempting to inform us.
