All large groups have their memes. Liberals' memes tend to be focused on our enemies. The noise about Sarah Palin's gaffes are especially obnoxious to me; anything that can be repeated verbatim on Saturday Night Live, and IMPROVE their ratings, is obviously not politics. It's trash entertainment. Nothing wrong with that being on SNL, it's just not news. Even substantive debunkment of Rand Paul's idiocy is worth less time than it took, in my opinion, because there are POSITIVE goals to pursue.
The perfect example of what you and I are talking about is Brad Friedman's ongoing saga, trying to cajole the New York Times to tell the truth about James O'Keefe, Hannah Giles and ACORN as prominently (FRONT PAGE) as it parroted Faux "News" lies about the matter, because it's so much less disputable; no science education is required to see that O'Keefe and Giles are both felons. Only the relevant facts remain to be admitted in the primary channels of "information" on which the majority of voters depend to make their choices. He singles out the NY Times because everybody with any education at all knows that everything on Fox "News" is a lie, including "and" and "the" but the Times is widely regarded as "the paper of record" in this country.
