In science, Occam's Razor is a principle that given any two posited explanations for the same phenomenon, the simpler one tends to be right. So, as proposed explanations for the phenomenon controversy over climate science, I'm offered on the one hand the explanation that all climate scientists and every government employee are conspiring against our best interests. That would be a very complicated scheme, and inconsistent with my experience of people in general. Sure, some people are crooks, but every single person in government? Not plausible. On the other hand I'm offered the explanation that there is controversy about climate science because petroleum corporatists are acting in their own, narrow financial interests. This is more straightforward, so it's preferred by Occam's Razor. It's also consistent with my own experience of the kind of people who define their sense of self worth entirely financially.
Then there's all the evidence. Climate scientists have never lied about climate science

And on the other hand, we have solid evidence of Millions of dollars being spent every year just by Exxon and Koch, just on lying about scientific fact.

Logic and evidence both say it's petroleum corporatists who are lying about climate science and climate scientists are ALL doing their jobs honestly.
