Hard for Crook to Climb Down on 'Climategate'

A New York Times editorial over the weekend makes the point that, "perhaps now we can put the manufactured controversy known as Climategate behind us and turn to the task of actually doing something about global warming."
Indeed we should.

Yes, but deniars are absolutely impervious to the facts they have decided in advance to ignore. What shuts them up is:

"Do you know what percentage of every dollar you spend on gas eventually gets to Osama bin Laden? Neither do I, but I know that anything more than zero is too much. And btw, 100% battery-powered sports cars can accelerate a lot faster than combustion based engines ever can, simply because electricity moves faster than any chemical reaction can reach equilibrium."

Energy independence policy is pretty much identical to clean energy policy, and that's the only argument that has any impact on anybody who doesn't already respect science and the environment.

Corporate coal and oil shills won't argue against energy independence policy, but call the very same policies climate policy, and they'll suddenly fall into lock step with Saudi spies and al Qaida agents.
