Ha!
Maybe the only way to pass any kind of rational energy policy is as "(green) jobs" bills and "energy independence" bills but I'm not ready to give up that much on my fellow citizens yet. Because they're systematically disinformed by a cabal of shareholders -- in energy and media corporations and think tank owners, etc. And I think that the "idea" of "dissent among climate scientists" is the key to this issue, and environmentalists need to just stick this key in the lock, and turn it.
2.5% is negligible so the "idea" of "dissent among climate scientists" is simply not legitimate. Of the 50% of voters who poll "skeptical" many just don't know how few climate scientists who think they have discovered something that nobody else has ever thought of, some negative feedback that will negate future warming or some other forcing that explains the post-1975 warming trend. Others think scientists have bent the rules, because anti-science lobbyists lie about the rules.
My goal is not to convince gui. I don't do lost causes. My goal is to clarify to other readers, as dispassionately and respectfully as I can manage, that although some questions remain open, that there are also some very significant statements that we can make with 90% or greater confidence. And in science, being right does not mean infallibility, it means being the best, and that is what The Greenhouse Theory is. It's the best Theory of climate change that we have.
