Since this exchange has dead-ended on the right (no more reply option) I'm taking it all the way back to the left, where I'm more comfortable anyway. ;-)

I would guess that's because treating me (advocates of rational climate and energy policies in general, not just me personally) as an enemy of the state based on Glenn Beck's slander (that climate science is an attempt to institute a Soviet-style command economy) is more appealing to the intellectually lazy than rationally, objectively assessing the scientific research.

I think they're reacting to what you say based on assumptions of your motives, assumptions which they don't have the courage to say to your face.
